You can schedule tasks to run at specific times or dates, and you can also make task repeat on a schedule that will run a task every week, for example. You can even save the task details so you can run them again if you want. Task Scheduler is available for Windows 8 and Windows 7.
You can also use the Scheduling section to create tasks manually. The main screen gives you full scheduling information, including a calendar view of what you can schedule, and a description of the task.
Task Scheduler will also let you run multiple tasks at once. You can schedule several programs to run at the same time, and set them up to run in specific order.
How to Use Task Scheduler
To get started, click the Start button, and you should see the Start menu. Click on the Control Panel, and then on the Task Scheduler sub-menu.

Useful Scheduling and Execution Information
Your Schedule tab tells you what time and date you scheduled the task to run, and if it’s a repeating task, how often it will run.
On the Details tab, you can enter specific instructions to run the task. The task name lets you know what will be done when you run the task, and the Enter a comment if you like.
On the Actions tab, you can choose the program that will run the task, and what folders you want to run it from. You can also choose to run the task as a specific user, and give that user control over what they can do with the task.
On the Advanced tab, you can set up the task to run automatically when the computer boots up.
